I didnt realise that I’m not such a crazy bridezilla after all… or atleast in comparison with some other girls. I asked two single friends of mine if they’d like to come look at wedding dresses with me. I thought they would be really irritated and told them that its only to have a laugh. One of my friends said she had always wanted to try them on. The other said she’s excited about it already.
After yesterday’s E! show on ‘Dos and Donts for your wedding’ I’ve decided to try …

I was browsing through channels when I saw ‘Top 20 wedding tips’ on E! TV. I missed the first few but here are some I’ve learnt:
1. Wedding Dress - The wedding dress should not cost more than 10% your entire wedding budget. Wear it as much as possible as you only wear it once so get as many photos out of that dress as possible. White wedding dresses are not the only option in today’s world. Sarah Jessica Parker wore a black dress. However, she was reported to have regretted …

I’ve been driving my fiance mad with the “Trumpet Voluntary” song from the Philharmonica Slavonica. I wonder if my brother, who took trumpet lessons for 5 years, could actually play the song at my wedding ceremony. I could get my fiance’s cousins to play the violin. Too ambitious? I think so…

Today, I saw this list on the Independent’s website. Im suprised that so many sites in the UK made it to the list
1. THE WESTMINSTER REGISTER OFFICE, LONDON NW1
Westminster Register Office, with its choice of four beautiful rooms, is one of the most popular venues in London for weddings. Its famous steps have seen numerous well-known couples over the years, including Paul McCartney and Linda Eastman, Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach, and Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit.
Where: Westminster Register Office, Westminster Council House, Marylebone Road, London NW1 (020-7641 …

This afternoon, I had a lunch with some of my fiance’s friend. One of whom is getting married in 2 months time. Invariably, all the conversations ended up being about weddings and engagements. I felt sorry for the two other men at lunch who had their girlfriends nearby putting more pressure on popping the question.
I asked a lot of questions about my fiance’s friend’s wedding which will be held at a private club.
Corkage Fees:
She said that one of the costs to watch out for was the corkage fee which is …

Today, I went to John Lewis with my fiance to view one of the wedding lists of a friend of his who is getting married in July. I panicked when I realised that I left her wedding invitation back at home but he reassured me that we could just type the bride’s last name. Unfortunately, our friend’s list is only accessible in a couple months time.
Wedding lists got me thinking about my own wedding list. I know it sounds rather rude but I would prefer if everyone gave us money …

For the past few weeks, I have been thinking about whether to throw an engagement party at all. Some of my friends have been pestering me about it and others have told me that its not a strict requirement. I guess it is a nice celebration to share with friends.
I estimate a small lunch and drinks event could cost a minimum of £700 I also have the issue of narrowing down to such a select few as we wont be able to invite more than 25 people if we want …
Honeymoon and Travel »
24 hours later, I have finally reconciled with the bill. My fiance says money is only money and is there to be spent.
I put in a query for flights from London-Dubai-Bangalore with a 3 night stop over in Dubai. STA Travel, which usually does student travel, called back with quotes. First, they said the cheapest flight is £656 to fly London to Dubai with a stop over at Bahrain (that would be 5 hours long) I inquired about a direct flight and he told me it would be £683…. hmm… …

This morning, I had breakfast with 2 sets of family friends at the Hilton Hotel to share news of our engagement. One family was so polite and insisted that I did not have to treat them to breakfast as they realise Im a student at the moment. After much persuasion, they agreed to have breakfast with us and even then at breakfast, they ordered as little as possible so they wouldnt seem overbearing. They are so posh and have just the best manners and social skills. The other family with two …
