I didnt realise that I’m not such a crazy bridezilla after all… or atleast in comparison with some other girls. I asked two single friends of mine if they’d like to come look at wedding dresses with me. I thought they would be really irritated and told them that its only to have a laugh. One of my friends said she had always wanted to try them on. The other said she’s excited about it already. 

After yesterday’s E! show on ‘Dos and Donts for your wedding’ I’ve decided to try on every style of wedding dress. I dont know which style will suit me and which does not. Because Im quite petite, I dont want to be swallowed by a puffy one so I think I’ll go for an elegant one. 

I actually had a tough time deciding if I even wanted to wear a white dress. I’m Buddhist so it is not even in my tradition to wear one. Also, I do believe that wearing white is quite hypocritical. Hm… Im beginning to think that I had a rant about this earlier on my blog. Anyways, I spoke to another friend and said that I was going to wear a white wedding dress as a favour for my fiance. She said that I should think of the entire wedding as a favour for my fiance, that committing one’s life to someone is a favour. We had a good laugh about it. 

Anyways, back to wedding dresses, I saw that at BHS, they are selling wedding dresses for under 500 pounds! And they didnt look too bad either. 

Another alternative is to look at websites like www.sharethedream.com which sells used wedding dresses. I’ve already been in touch with one of the brides to see if I can try on her dress. Another idea is to try e-bay although it is flooded with advertisements from China. 

I think the best idea is to custom make my own gown. My fiance’s friend had hers made for her in Malaysia in the style of Vera Wang. I love the dress as well but I dont know if the satin cheapens the dress or if the material is needed so the gown flows. Also, I like this one, I’m not sure if it will suit me.
