A few weeks ago, I found a website called Christian Graffitti which does beautiful wedding invitations. I called them up and asked for three samples. They gave up to three invitations for free. Only two have arrived but I thought I’d post them up so that others can see them. I spoke to a lovely lady on the phone who said she set up the business because she has tired of how everyone wanted to charge so much for wedding items. When I inquired how much her invitations were, I …

So I’ve uploaded photos from the wedding we attended this past weekend. When I arrived and took photos, I saw a photographer with some very impressive lens. I asked him if he was the official photographer for the event and he confirmed he was. A friend of my fiance was standing nearby and asked me “Hmm… you must be stealing ideas… I see you asking for quotes.” I got so mad, I wanted to say “Oh that would be too crass” but I ended up saying “No I’ve already booked …

I’ve spent the last 4 hours trying to order my personalised save the date magnets…yes this is the life of a bridezilla! I’ve been thinking of sending out some “Save the Date” stuff as everyone has been asking us when we’re going to properly celebrate our wedding as we had our legal ceremony a month ago. Anyways, I didnt just want to send a card that said ‘Save the date’ or be so cheap to email people and ask them to reserve the date.
I think it says a lot about …

Last night, my friend Naomi came over to sleep over and we stayed up till 2 o clock chatting away. I’ve been quite hesitant to talk about wedding details to my friends because none of them are engaged so I didnt think they would be too interested. But my friend Naomi actually wanted to speak about my ring and other wedding details. I think you know when a woman is “ready” about marriage when she is actually interested in wedding details. A year ago, I never even thought about carat …

I was looking for personalised mint tins when I typed in “personalised box” and I came across a company that does personalised boxes.
They let you take any photo and make it into a box in 3 sizes. I thought it would be a novel way to present something for a couple but I saw the price and almost got a heart attack -
Small £44, Medium £79, Large £119
Postage: UK £3.85, EU £12, Worldwide: £15
But this got me thinking - perhaps this would make an alternative to the keepsake box. So if you …

So on friday, I went to Selfridges to show my cousin who is a fashion designer, the two wedding dresses I am considering. I was considering the “three roses” and the “beatrice” dress. He said that the “three roses” suits my body shape and is quite affordable (£2,000). I had thought that dress only comes in a size 2 but the sales assistant said that they take measurements and each dress is made in 6 months time. The beatrice dress is absolutely beautiful but at over £8000 it is a …
Engagement & Wedding Ceremony »
Im Buddhist and my fiance is - um, capitalist so I was researching how to have a non religious wedding ceremony. These are some of the elements of the ceremony that you could incorporate. One of the things I thought about is having one of my guests, particularly someone I respect, as an officiant. As we’ve already done the legal ceremony, it could just be someone who gives us blessings.
Processional. The processional is where the bridesmaids and bride enter the ceremony site.
The giving. Traditionally the officiant asks, with differing variations, ‘Who gives this …

At my engagement party, I had the emcee of the event read out Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116 which I love. I thought about incorporating it into my wedding, perhaps as a reading or even in my invitation. I saw an invitation where they had a poem in between the lines of the invitation. Like this one:
Anyways, the poem is:
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O, no! it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on …
