Hints and Tips for Perfect Invitation

The wedding invitation provide the first introduction to your wedding and may set the style and theme of your special day.

1. If you are having a traditional ceremony and dinner, get a stiff card (350 gsm or more) with engraved or copperplate printed text. If you plan to have a more contemporary or informal theme, you could use coloured cards, a modern font and a less formal layout.

2. Wedding invitations no longer need to be boring white. In fact, in Chinese culture, I heard white envelopes are unlucky. Go for off white shades such as champagne with a beautiful font and quality printin.

3. Incorporate ribbons or overlays to make it more fancy.

4. Using stationery designers is not that expensive. They have standard designs and you can modify them. If you use a colour theme or some photos or interesting images, you can make your invitations more unusual.

5. Do not compromise on the weight of the card as some people like to display this on the mantle piece.

6. To cut costs, you can print the same cover for your invitation, order of service and menu. This way, your stationary will also be co-ordianted.

7. In dealing with unmarried guests, you can invite their partner if they have been with them for some time. if they do not have one, you do not have to write a “plus one” or “plus guest”
