I was reading the new edition of my bridal magazine and I saw how lovely the confetti holders were. I think its lovely when you have photos of the bride and groom being showered with confetti, especially right after they walk down the aisle after the ceremony or just for the photos:
Usually you buy confetti in bags. I know that the store “Confetti” on Tottemham Court Road is quite expensive. I saw a woman buy four bags and show so much shock at having to pay £100 for them. I …

This past weekend, my fiance and I went to a local Cash and Carry store in Greenwich to buy our year’s supply of toiletries. Cash and Carry stores offer items at trade prices. The only catch is that you’ll have to buy a whole pack or a lot and you may have to pay a subscription fee. I remember last year, the subscription fee at Costco was £20. You will make up for this expenditure than this if you go atleast twice a year. However, be sure to compare prices …

Last week, I wrote two posts on how to ask for money. But then I thought about how it would be seen to a wedding guests. My personal opinion is that if you badger on about how you need money then it might irritate your wedding guests. However, if you say something like “You dont need to buy us a present, but if you want to, save your money and just give us cash so we can use it”
Yesterday, my fiance and I received this email (oh the horror!) invitation …

I’ve asked my mum to buy the bridesmaids dresses in India. I told her that we decided on the green colour scheme but Im afraid she may buy the wrong shade because green comes in so many varieties. So I went to the local B & Q (Harware/DIY store) where they had all the colour guides. I stole a few to send to my mum and show her the exact shade of green.
I also spoke to a friend who is a designer and she said that they do something very …

Last week, I had a post on asking for money at the wedding. My fiance really liked the poem that goes:
If you’d like to give us something
To help us on our way
A gift of money
Would really make our day.
But then I found a ton of other poems which were so nice. Its a pity they dont fit on our wedding invites but perhaps I could put them on the website?
Our life together has already begun
And we almost have everything under the sun,
So we both thought we would make a suggestion,
To …

Last week, I mentioned that my fiance and I will be asking for money as a wedding present. I know some people dont like to give money at weddings because they think its rude and they would prefer to know where the money is going towards.
Generally, gift lists come under three options: charity gift lists, online wedding lists which bundle gifts from different shops, and specific store gift lists.
For those brides and grooms who have everything and anything, giving money to charity is such an honourable and lovely idea. If …

I’ve just seen on another blog that a bride used origami flowers. I think they’d be a great alternative to the flower petals but then again, not sure if you want to be stepping on something hard!!!
Or perhaps you could have them in a garden if you are taking the photos. They look lovely and so simple to make. Im sure I can find something on youtube that teaches me how to make them. Im rubbish at these things so maybe I’ll get my fiance to make them. Men are …

My fiance’s sister just came back from Hong Kong and brought back the wedding favours from a wedding held there. I think they are the nicest wedding favours ever!
Its basically a silver coloured fortune cookie which ha a ribbon with their names and dates, some hersey kisses chocolates in them and wrapped in beautiful silk.
So I went looking on the internet to find a similar chinese fortune cookie and the cheapest ones were $10 (£5) and I had to ship them from the US. I think if I ordered them, …

This newspaper article has inspired me to collect Frequent Flyer points. I have 18,000 so far on my Virgin Flight and I want to redeem it for a free holiday. I dont think it will go as far as a honeymoon but for some other money savvy brides, perhaps this could help:
According to my research on the Virgin Flying Club:
Dubai and New York needs 38, 250 or 22, 500 points
India, Barbados needs 50,000 points
Hong Kong needs 60,000 points.
Heres the article for some inspiration:
A couple spent three months trawling the streets …

I’ve been drafting my wedding invites and am stuck on how to ask my guests to dress formal for our wedding. I guess other brides would be having the same dillema. I think its extremely rude if guests turn up dressed scruffily at weddings because its so disrespectful to the couple and the effort they put into the wedding. Just as you dress up for job interviews, you should look just as presentable at someone’s wedding. I am even tempted to ask the bouncers at my venue to not let …
