I just noticed that someone searched for “usual corkage fee” to find my website. I’ve asked the wedding co-ordinator and she says these are the corkage fee at our venue:

£1 for each bottle of soft drinks or beer

£15 per wine bottle

£50 for spirits

It works out cheaper to get your own wine or drinks because you can always return them if the boxes remain unoppened.

Another bride recommended that I have a drinks bar. She said that if I put wine on each table, then people would open them and drink only a few sips. If they have to come and get their drinks, there is less wastage and you can return the unoppened boxes. 

I think I’ll have 2 bottles of sparkling water and 2 bottles of still water at each table and then have tons of beer/red & white wine/fruit juices at the bar and with waiters serving them.
