So I’ve been researching where all those antiquated terminology comes from and what it means:
Carriages at midnight: doesnt mean some sort of Cinderalla carriages. Its just a polite way of saying that the party will end at midnight, please arrange for your transport home by this time.
Bring a bottle: means asking guests to bring gifts of alcohol to the parties.
Here are some terms that will be useful when researching your wedding dress or speaking to the bridal consultant. I’ve also put in some terms about flowers so it can help …

I heard the horror story of someone who did not write a gift list and ended up with 10 photo albums. Recently, a work colleague of my fiance gave us a £100 voucher at John Lewis. Whilst the gift was so thoughtful, when you have a voucher, you end up walking around in the shop hardly finding something you really want.
So instead of noting down a gift list, my fiance and I will be asking for money. I know this is looked upon in horror and my fiance’s friend suggested …

I’m still debating between the Indian sari or the Tibetan dress with out the blouse for the bridesmaid’s dresses. In the mean time, I’ve been thinking of whether all bridesmaids need to wear a uniform colour or if we could mix it up by having them wear slightly similar shades of the same colour, different pastel colours or even all bridesmaids one colour and just the maid of honour in a different hue.
Here are some to get you thinking:
Same colour:

Same colour, different styles:

Or all different colours (I think it would …

I’ve been keeping note of what other people spend on their weddings as a good reference for how much I should budget for my wedding. Of course, some people priorities and spend more on one area than the other. For e.g. I cant imagine someone spending so little on wedding and engagement rings – these are items you wear for the rest of your life!
Anyways, here they are, maybe they would be useful if you could make an excel sheet where you plot what the average cost is and then …

Ever since my fiance and I agreed on a green-cream-white wedding, I’ve gone crazy looking for inspiration from other green themed weddings. Here are some for other brides who are looking at green. Of course, there is a whole range of green you could go for, I like the minty light green. Also, green goes very well with shades of yellow, cream or brown.

Originally, I planned to do a slideshow at my wedding with photos of my fiance and I from our childhood up to present day. I have an absolutely adorable picture of my bridesmaid Linda and I from when we were 5 years old. Our venue has two screens in the hall where we will be married. However, I will be getting married at the front of the hall and the screens are at the back. Also, the guests will be ushered into the hall so will not have time to …

£1 for each bottle of soft drinks or beer
£15 per wine bottle
£50 for spirits
It works out cheaper to get your own wine or drinks because you can always return them if the boxes remain unoppened.
Another bride recommended that I have a drinks bar. She said that if I put wine on each table, then people would open them and drink only …
