Bracelets for Bridesmaids

25 April 2009 218 views No Comment

Im going to use this blog to shamelessly advertise my very talented and inspiring friend’s Finnish handmade business - Onni Designs. My internationally traveled and educated friend, Stephanie Seege recently told me about her jewelry business. We only got back in touch recently but I first met her when I was 17 years old at an international conference in Washington D.C. and New York City. When I checked her website, I was so impressed by the beautiful designs and her story of how she started her business. Onni means luck in Finnish and the designer sources all materials and hand makes the jewellry all from Finland. I think these bracelets would make perfect bridesmaids presents. My favourite one is the one with torquoise stones. In my culture, torquoise is the gem of Goddess Tara, who protects women.

A little something from the talented madame herself:
In year 2005 I founded my jewellery company – ONNI – which means luck in Finnish. Today I create unique, affordable and timeless pieces of jewellery that suit women of all ages.

I mainly use natural materials such as semi-precious stones, glass, coral and metals. I look for inspiration in nature, and mainly from the sea, which I love. In my jewellery I have also used materials bought on my “once in a lifetime”-trip. I travelled through Asia, – you might have followed the trip on my blog – and now my intention is to give you a small insight into my life and to convey the values that are important to me.

Onni jewellery is sold in an interior design shop, Papagena, on Etelä Esplanadi in Helsinki. I also hope that my newly inaugurated internet shop here at www.onnidesign.fi will correspond to your expectations.

My jewellery is delivered in a small box with a personal greeting from me.
