This weekend saw a bonanza of Celebrity Weekend. First off, we had the infamous Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt – or more popularly known as ‘Speidi’ married in Los Angeles on Saturday the 25th of April. They eloped to Mexico last year but there was a whole discussion whether their marriage was ‘legal’ or not or just another PR stunt. Well to clear all doubt, Heidi wore a Monique Lhullier dress as they exchange wows at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena. Unromantically, MTV was there to capture the event for their reality TV show. Their reception was held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. Two things I loved about the Speidi wedding was her dress and veil – love the return to wearing the veil – and her flower arrangements with the colour theme green and yellow.

The second happy couple this weekend was Salma Hayek and her billionaire boyfriend Francois-Henri Pinault (CEO of a fashion group). Salma Hayek wore a full skirted ivory gown with a heavily embroidered v-neck bodice designed by Balenciaga. The couple, who first married in a secret ceremony in Paris on Valentine’s day this year, invited 150 friends to join them for a masked ball to celebrate their fashion-meets-Hollywood union. I think the trend of getting married legally and then exchanging your own private vows is catching on – yay! for us who did the same last year and will celebrate this year. Salma and Francois’ daughter Valentina acted as a flower girl – reminds me so much of sweet little Suri Cruise at her parent’s wedding as well.

I love the way they have strung flowers in the background – something I will consider doing for my own wedding as there is a bare wall where we exchange our vows.

And finally, a UK celebrity – Denise Van Outen married musical star Lee Mead at a secret ceremony at the Seycelles. Friends had only been told that the couple was going away for a holiday. The couple met when Denise, was a judge on BBC1’s Any Dream Will Do talent show, which 27-year-old Lee won, landing the lead role in the musical Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Denise wore an absolutely beautiful Jenny Packham dress. I love the way she wore a ’70s hair band, such a lovely alternative to the tiara.
