I know that the first thing you think of when you hear the word balloon is probably a kid’s birthday parties but these wedding photos just blew me away. But I think the balance is getting balloons that are not tacky so maybe buying better quality balloons and making sure it reflects the colour scheme in a very classy way.
and then more…
They would even look great for engagement shoots:
If you’re thinking of using balloons later on, how about using them for the reception or on the deserts table?
If white …

I attended another wedding this past weekend where the bridesmaids wore corsage. I love the idea more and more, making me slightly nostalgic about prom night when I was in high school. The corsages free the bridesmaids arms during the ceremony and saves on the flowers costs (only if you are making them yourselves) My sister in law suggested the gerber daisies but I would prefer having a few small flowers than one big one.
Here are some that I found on my research and I thought I’d share them …

We’ve been doing calculations over corkage fees for several hours now. Some have a very high fee to discourage couples from buying cheap alcohol from other vendors and others have minimum fees to pay for the dishwasher and waiter services. I never knew corkage fees could be one of the budget traps. I’ve also been reading other forums on corkage fee and one couple recounted how their venue said it was £2,000 but as soon as they said they could not afford the venue, the corkage fee was brought down …

A few weekends ago, I went to a friend’s Chinese banquet. On the tables, we saw some beautiful place cards and matching table numbers that featured cut out flowers. Then a few days ago, I saw that the table numbers were advertised on a magazines from Marks and Spencers (British supermarket) - who knew these supermarkets could produce such chic things?
Anyways, I thought I’d show you how the place cards looked on the tables in case it inspires anyone else. Also, I think the flowers really pop out if …

A while ago, I fell in love with the Jenny Packham hair piece. However, after my hair and make up trial with the absolutely fabulous stylist Evan Huang, I’m now undecided. I think the bejewelled piece may be a bit OTT and my white dress is already so intricate and beautiful. I dont want too many things fitting for attention.
So I’ve been looking at the latest celebrity gossip and I saw this lovely photo of Peaches Geldoff at Cannes with a side bun. Coincidentally, my stylist is actually at …

This weekend, my stylist Evan Huang came over to do my make up trial. I was late (as usual) but my lovely fiance picked him up. Before I sound so lovey dovey, I cant believe how practical and proactive my fiance is. He knew I had arranged to pick up my stylist at noon and when I was late, he went over to pick him up. Anyways, after a quick shower and discussion with Evan, I showed him the photos of a few looks I wanted to try. I showed …

As you may or may not have realised, Im quite the cupcake fanatic and my friends even think my cupcake obsession is quite funny (and they enjoy being the recipients of all my cupcake experiments even more). So I decided to enroll in a proper cupcake making course. I signed up for the Cakes4fun cupcake course in Putney. They have a range of classes - from decorating cakes to all sorts of cupcake decorations. The wedding cupcake course costs £99 and the normal cupcake course costs £75. By now, Im …

Whilst reading a forum on bargains, I found a post about Stunning Wedding Chair Covers, who offered a 99 pence deal on each chair covers and sashes. I think it was part of their Spring sale so its back to £1.99 - which is what the average chair and sash rental charges. My friend Ray got 75 chair covers and sashes for £600 - a total rip off so anything that is about £2 or less a chair cover is reasonable.
Since it sounded like a really good bargain, I …

During the civil ceremony at our wedding, the Registrar told me that some people turned up in fancy dress the other day when they got married. At the time, I laughed and thought that something so sacred like a wedding should not be taken so lightly. But now the more I think about it, the more I think its actually quite different and atleast its memorable to all the guests. Here are two movie fanatics - Im glad they found partners that understand their passion….
Star Wars fans Duncan Thomson and …

Whilst some brides (and I’ve found its more the trend in America) choose to wear a tiara, I’ve been looking at other options for head pieces. I was about to write “hair piece” but when you type “bridal hair piece” or “wedding hair piece” you find strange websites to buy wigs!
Most commonly, women wear a single flower or some small flowers on their hair. I think this is a fantastic way to accessorize and makes you look natural and lovely.
Other brides have also looked at wearing a headband. There …
