Whilst some brides (and I’ve found its more the trend in America) choose to wear a tiara, I’ve been looking at other options for head pieces. I was about to write “hair piece” but when you type “bridal hair piece” or “wedding hair piece” you find strange websites to buy wigs!

Most commonly, women wear a single flower or some small flowers on their hair. I think this is a fantastic way to accessorize and makes you look natural and lovely.

Other brides have also looked at wearing a headband. There are mixed reviews on this one. I’ve only seen one bride in real life who wore a head band and I think she only wore it to look different.

Theres also a choice to wear clips on the hair.

But now there is a growing trend to wear jewelled head pieces.

Love that hair style and head piece on Drew Barrymore. I think I’d like to try this look when I do my make up and hair trial.

I went to see Jenny Packham because I’ve seen some absolutely stunning head pieces on their models, most to match the dress they are wearing. When I called their store, they said I did not need an appointment for the head pieces, I could just walk in. Their address is:

Anyways, back to the Jenny Packham store, the sales assistant was really friendly and helpful. She didnt rush me into buying anything and I tried on all the head pieces. There was one that was a pin and slightly cheaper (£200) and then two head pieces of recycled (made from vintage jewelry) crystals on slim headband (One was £250, other was around 400 if I remember correctly) The headband actually helps a lot because you feel the piece is more balanced and you dont feel as though your head piece will fall off during a dance. The head pieces can come with the band that is either black or blonde so that it camaflouges with your hair. I felt the heavier, more intricate head piece was a bit too gaudy for me. I think it would work well if you had a delicate dress that wasnt too dressy. That would serve as a grand embellishment. My dress has a lot of ruffles and beads and i dont want the head piece to also fight for attention. On that same note, the assistant suggested that I wear simple earrings because of the intricate headpiece.

So here are photos of me in the headpiece. The sales assistant said that she would only allow me to take photos because I wouldnt be able to buy them elsewhere. Interestingly, these pieces are made in India – I am sure the factory workers would be shocked at how much Jenny Packham sell them for. The price of the head piece I adore is the monthly salary for a graduate in a corporate job! But then again, this piece has only be introduced this february so a bride that wears this would just look so gorgeous and stylish!

Im also wearing the beautiful bracelet they had. I think it was about £300-500, I cant remember the price because I was so transfixed by the headpiece.
