Flowers at the Wedding
I had three main flowers at the wedding: my bridal bonquet, the flower arrangements on the table, and the bridesmaids bonquet. I decided to get the bridal bonquet made professionally because I’ve heard it is the most important flower arrangement. I wanted to save costs on the rest of the flower arrangements because I heard that flowers can be misleadingly expensive. The average American bride spends $1600 on flowers alone!
Anyways, back to the bridal bonquet, I went down to Chez Michelle (sounds like a restaurant doesnt it?) at Borough Market. I had previously enquired about the bridal bonquets and various florists within the same florist shop had quoted between £35 - 45. I found that very reasonable because most bridal bonquets in other florist shops start at £60. So I went down on friday morning to pick my friend up from her hotel in Borough market and asked the florist there for a flower arrangement with white, yellow and green colours. I didnt tell her it was a bridal bonquet and I think that was the main reason that it was not over priced!
I had to keep asking the florist to make the bonquet smaller and smaller because I didnt want it to dwarf me.
As for the bridesmaids, my fiance’s cousin made them and my bridesmaids picked the flowers from the New Covent Garden Market. My bridesmaid bought flowers worth £55.
I had white, green and yellow hydrogena flowers as table arrangement. They also had to buy this green sponge like material to stick the flowers in the vases.
