Wedding vows inspiration from a movie
I was just watching ‘Have you seen the Morgans’ starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant. I actually enjoyed the movie, clearly my hubby voted with his feet twenty minutes into the movie. Aside from commenting on the aging movie stars, I did love the part where SJP recounts her wedding vows (which were on my wedding website as well!) taken from Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116:
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
and Hugh Grant’s vows were (if I typed as quickly and accurately as I watched)
I promise to never take you for granted;
Or utter a word unkind.
Never allow my affections to be recanted
Or stop marveling at your behind
To also marvel at your warmth, your wit
Your refusal to condone animal slaughter
Your wisdom, your laugh
Your inability to boil water
To be your best friend for the rest of my life
And to thank the god you are not sure about
Into fooling you into being my wife.
How sweet was that? Worth rewinding the DVD three times to get the words right!

Probably could have googled that tenzin rather than rewinding the video
Love it!
Yes I tried googling and couldnt find it so I did the hard work for other brides who might just need that inspiration (highly unlikely but not impossible!)
