Save Us a Spot!
I love stationary almost as much as cupcakes and I think wedding guests notice the smallest of details in the wedding starting with the invitations. The invitation itself represents the wedding and you can usually tell who skims and saves on their wedding depending on the type of invitations you receive. I’ve received post cards and one page handout invites that definitely set the tone for the wedding. Last year, I visited my friends home and she had three wedding invites on the mantle above the fireplace and was referring to one of the invitations that had set the standard. I know a friend who even saves wedding invitations… actually I have two male friends who saved my wedding invitation! I will take that as a huge compliment considering that men generally are not that sentimental!
I love the idea of ‘Save us a Spot’ cards to include in your wedding invitation enclosed in a spotted envelope!
“Save us a Spot” cards work really well as an innovative ‘Save the Date’ cards. They would be so handy for guests to mark up in their social diary or hang in their homes.
If you wanted to carry the spot theme, you could include it in envelopes with spotted inner linings. You can liven up plain envelopes with spots by creating the colourful paper linings.
1. Cut a length of polka-dot paper to the width of the envelope
2. Slip it inside and cut to fit the envelope flap.
3. Secure in place with a dab of glue.
or if you just love the idea of inner lined envelopes, look at the wealth of beautiful designs on this bride’s stationary:
