Weddings at the Shoreditch House
Earlier this week, I met a hotshot headhunter who during the course of our conversation, revealed that he was throwing his 30th birthday at the Shoreditch House. Im sure he was amused by the sight of my jaw dropping because I’ve been looking into throwing my 30th birthday at the Shoreditch House… if I can afford it in 3 years time! I actually cannot think of a more hip and central location to throw a 30th birthday party.

British comedian David Williams of the infamous sketch show Little Britain married his model girlfriend Lara Stone at Claridges and then hosted drinks at the Shoreditch House. It was reported that guests were asked to sign a confidentiality agreement before they entered the wedding premises. However, the juicy gossip that did slip through was that best man Matt Lucas wheeled the cake out dressed as the fat woman who makes fun of fat people from their comedy sketch.

The 120 wedding guests, including many of their celebrity friends enjoyed drinks at the bar and cupcakes from the Primrose Bakery. Check out the sweet invitations – glad to see that some other people are cupcake crazy as well.

Guests were also treated to a synchronized swimming display in the rooftop pool, accompanied by Shirley Bassey and a projection of Bond footage on to the wall. Apparently, the whole party costs £80,000.

and pool by night:

Other celebrities who reported threw parties at the Shoreditch House include British singer Amy Winehouse who threw her 14 year old god daughter a suprise birthday party. Awww!
I once attended my previous employer’s Christmas party at the Shoreditch. The views across the city – particularly the silohuette of the financial district in close proximity is incredible. Shoreditch House appears to be a grubby warehouse from the outside but when you step inside their discreet building, you will be amazed at the high specification interiors. The entire rooftop has been decked out with the best sound system and the pool just looks heavenly. One of the advocates actually jumped into the pool and was escorted out of the building! What impressed me is that when inside the toilets, there was such attention to detail such as the perfumed toilet paper, the hair straightened, and the Cowshed toiletries. I love places which set the standard in terms of both the big and little details.

Without sounding like Shoreditch House paid me to advertise their space, they have other space to hire – a bowling alley, a private dining area, and a beautiful garden. Some of the areas are open to only members and others can be rented free. For a wedding/special occassion venue, the rates are quite reasonable at around £500 or £1000 room hire but check the minimum spend on each of the areas.
I actually see myself throwing my 30th birthday at this garden top – mark my words! With a dedicated bar, a dinning-come-meeting area and a special roof garden menu, what more could a 30 year old girl want? Well maybe a Louboutin as well!
