I havent gotten excited about engagement rings since… my Tiffany Novo ring but then something really special comes along like Reese Witherspoon’s Ashoka ring!

Actress Reese Witherspoon, 34 got engaged over the christmas holidays to Hollywood agent, Jim Toth, 40. They have been dating since January 2010, after she broke up from a three year relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhall.

Jim gave Reese a $250,000 four carat Ashoka cut diamond and platinum ring over the Christmas holidays. The ring was designed by William Goldberg. Other couples that followed suit are singer LeAnne Rimes and actor Eddie Cibrian; actress Natalie Portman and choreographer Benjamin Millepied; and even ultimate bachelor Hugh Hefner and his ultimate playmate Crystal Harris!

An ashoka diamond is named after the famous Buddhist warrior-king by the same name who lives in India. The original Ashoka ring is said to have been a 41.37 carat D flawless diamond. The diamond is a modified cushion cut ring with a rectangular shape. It is so scare on the market and makes the ring even more valuable.

Reese debuted her ring at a Laker’s game on January 5, 2011. Reports are in that she even wore the ring yesterday on her daily run (wouldnt you too if you got that ring?)

Now if only I could convince my husband to buy me that ring considering my Buddhist and Indian connections… sigh!
