Cupcake Wrappers

I stumbled upon these cupcake wrappers on another bride’s blog and thought they were so whimsical and sweet. However, one must note that you cannot actually bake the cupcakes in these cupcake wrappers, you bake them in the cupcake cases and then drop them into these wrappers for that special touch.

The premier store which sells the cupcake wrapper – Estilo Weddings. They have a huge variety of cupcake wrappers and I can just imagine that they add the “wow” factor. But they are not cheap – $12 for 10 of …

Today, I’ve been at Queen’s Cub in Kensington on a chocolate making course. I first saw a feature on chocolate making by the Chocolate Delight company in the London Paper, a local newspaper. The classes run on weekends and are between £55-100. My course on Sunday at 2 pm was for £57. The course includes all ingredients and as many marshmallows in chocolate fountain as you can eat.

The course instructor was a very lively chocolatier called Alan and he pads out the course by explaining the history of chocolate and some …

I’ve been looking for some cookie cutters ever since I saw what other brides did. I just called up my fiance’s sister and she said she really liked the idea as well. She knows a company that does cookies with messages but it is about 8 pounds per cookie. I think thats a bit too pricey for wedding favours when you have about 100 guests.
Also, I went on ebay and found that these cookie cutters cost just as much as I would buy them online. On ebay, there arent that …

I glanced into a wedding magazine the other day and saw one bride had personalised cookies which doubled up as place cards and wedding favours. How novel and cool is that? The fact that each cookies is personalised means that people will realise the work and effort put into it. It would be a waste if some people didnt turn up, as I know on some occassions, a few guests dont show up because of an illness or death in the family.

Anyways, here are some ideas of wedding cookies. Im …

This past weekend, my fiance and I went to a local Cash and Carry store in Greenwich to buy our year’s supply of toiletries. Cash and Carry stores offer items at trade prices. The only catch is that you’ll have to buy a whole pack or a lot and you may have to pay a subscription fee. I remember last year, the subscription fee at Costco was £20. You will make up for this expenditure than this if you go atleast twice a year. However, be sure to compare prices …

I just noticed that someone searched for “usual corkage fee” to find my website. I’ve asked the wedding co-ordinator and she says these are the corkage fee at our venue:
£1 for each bottle of soft drinks or beer
£15 per wine bottle
£50 for spirits
It works out cheaper to get your own wine or drinks because you can always return them if the boxes remain unoppened.
Another bride recommended that I have a drinks bar. She said that if I put wine on each table, then people would open them and drink only …

I noticed a lot of readers are searching for ‘Wedding Cupcakes.’ I was reading the latest edition of “Brides” (US version) and it had a whole feature on wedding cupcakes. They said its a new way to make the wedding quirky. However, they do warn that a cupcake does not have the same ceremonial air that cutting a wedding cake has. They recommend you make sure the photographer takes a photo of you beside the cupcake stand before you devour it.
Personally, I think cupcakes are fantastic because they look gorgeous …

Looking at the set menus provided by the wedding planner, I noticed that the set menus had about 4 or 5 different deserts. I know that if they were placed on a table, there are people who would go and eat one of each when in fact, all the deserts are meant to feed a 100 people in total. I told my wedding planner that I would prefer to limit the deserts to two choices so that people had a choice between the two and do not go picking one …

So on my favourite blog, I saw an idea for creative cupcake stands. Here, they painted ceramic pots and glued them together to create a cupcake stand. I think this would work if you had about 10 cupcakes.

To fit in more capcakes, covering boxes and then piling them on top of each other with cupcakes at the side looks so pretty. You could also use wrapping paper that matches the colour scheme. I think I’ll use this idea.

This morning, I read some interesting facts about love. I also saw these instructions how to make fortune cookies. I thought about combining the two. This way, your guests would have interesting table conversations, like when we open our Christmas crackers at our office Christmas parties. I also like the Chinese element because it reflects my fiance’s culture.

1. Men who kiss their wives in the morning live five years longer than those who don’t.

2. People are more likely to tilt their heads to the right when kissing instead of the …
