The Golden Globes held in January and the Academy awards in February saw many A list stars vow the red carpet in white gowns and dresses. Could this be the effect of a year of Royal Weddings? Could this truly be a bridal chic revival? Last summer saw the white dress hailed as the new LBD so having stars wear the white dresses in full force only conforms the trend. The white colour has such a lovely effect on all skin tones and variations of light dresses (with infusions of …

February 29 serves not just to keep the calendar year synchornised by the astronomical or seasonal year but also to give ladies a chance to propose to their man (you go girl!). The tradition was said to have been initiated by St Patrick or Brigidof Kildare in 5th century Ireland. Legend also has it that there is a 1288 law established by the Queen Magaret of Scotland (who was actually 5 at the time and living in Norway) that if a man should refuse such a proposal, his penalty would …

I always wish a Happy Valentines Day to all my loved-up friends and a Happy Independence Day to all my single friends on February 14. More and more couples are choosing to make that date even more special by hosting their wedding on that day.
Here are a few ideas of how to incorporate a Valentines themed wedding:
1. Invites that look like Valentines Cards.
2. Favours that are heart-shaped/red/romantic… love this chic shopping bag (so useful!)
3. Heart shaped wedding cake or even this red M&M cake!
4. Romantic red/pink roses flower arrangements
5. Iced …

I’ve been meaning to write a post about Thank You cards as I’ve been discussing this with Linda. I’m one of those strange people that actually love writing cards and wrapping presents (yes I am a stationary freak) so I found writing thank you cards for my wedding really enjoyable. But I understand there are brides out there who do not relish this task but feel they have to complete it.
I mentioned to Linda that Thank You cards actually reflect you as a couple as much as the wedding. I …

A new trend at weddings, birthdays, baby showers, and house warming parties is the display desert tables. Searching for desert tables, google shows up a few businesss of ‘sweet stylists’ … how cool is that for a business title and job!
I dont want to write much and let the pictures speak for themselves…. but when I finally qualify as a solicitor, I’m going to design and make my own desert table for a sweet celebration myself. In fact, I’ve already bought these sweet invitations from Mara Mi to commit myself …

We recently attended the wedding of my college friend in Lyon, France. We were paired up with a sweet couple that offered to drive us to the reception from the church but before we departed, they asked us for help to blow up balloons. Apparently, it is a French tradition to tie balloons and streamers on cars of the wedding party and actually honk on the way to the reception. It was a bit strange to have the rear view clouded by balloons but the sight of the united wedding …

Clearly at her July 11, 2011 nuptials, Kate Moss has taken the ‘more-the-merrier’ approach with fifteen bridesmaids and a maid of honour. Amongst the fifteen was her eight year old daughter Lila Grace, her thirteen year old sister Lottie Moss and children of her close friends. I adore how sweet the photos of all the little children looked and I imagine she must have saved a lot of hassle of picking bridesmaids and snubbing some friends in the process. The maid of honour title was reserved fro Jess Hallett, Kate’s …

My partner’s cousin Addy just got engaged and shared a sweet photo of her near the Golden Gate in San Francisco on her facebook page. Ofcourse, boys being boys, my partner commented ‘Hmm.. thats where Caesar from Planet of Apes lives.” Romantic. Not. Anyways, on the topic of engagement photos, I was flabbergasted to see the engagement photos of a California couple that was zombie themed. No seriously. ZOMBIE THEMED. Apparently, the couple came up with the creative idea themselves and asked their co-worker to fill in as the zombie. …
