I missed the wedding of a dear friend who I have known since university as it was in India over the time my parents were visiting me here in London But being the thoughtful friend he is, the lovely couple gave us their wedding favour. Most wedding favours are candles, soaps, or almonds (all under the cost of a pound or five)…. but not this couple!
I love how grand Indian weddings are. Families spend their entire life savings to re-create a movie like set in the context of …

Whilst trawling the notonthehighstreet.com website, I came across a “fill me in ” poster which I bought for my big 30th birthday party coming up. I thought it would be fun to get my guests to colour in and write their names/wishes in the little bubble. Also, this would make for an interesting activity or talking point as I would love my guests to mingle.
This got me thinking this would make such a great guest book alternative… and especially if you can hang this in your home and cherish the …

Our friends, Janet and Paul sent us these lugage tags Save-the-Dates in our christmas cards this year, which slipped out just as I opened the cards. What a lovely suprise! On the reverse, they had printed details of their wedding website which gave information on holiday prices and trip suggestions. I really liked the idea because its such a fun, creative way to announce the Save the Date and to give details of the wedding, particularly where its long haul and guests need to start booking annual leave as soon …

Actress Holly Valance’s bridal look was completed with a dark floral bonquet. A striking bonquet in “black magic” calla lilies were centre piece of the whopping £60,000 spent on flowers alone for the wedding to property tycoon Nick Candy. They wed under a canopy of trailing amaranthus, black callas and purple orchid, making a dramatic look in laid-back LA.
and more photos of the stylish canopy that really frames their wedding look:

Ditching the trend for usual figures on cake tops or no cake toppers at all, I chanced to see the cutest adorable animal cake toppers on one bride’s blog. I think its so sweet if there is an animal that reflects the couple’s personality or one that has special meaning to the couple. For Valentines Day this year, my husband had bought me a card where one guinea pig was kissing the other on the cheek in the exact pose as us (me greedily chomping away and him looking tired!) …

I always wish a Happy Valentines Day to all my loved-up friends and a Happy Independence Day to all my single friends on February 14. More and more couples are choosing to make that date even more special by hosting their wedding on that day.
Here are a few ideas of how to incorporate a Valentines themed wedding:
1. Invites that look like Valentines Cards.
2. Favours that are heart-shaped/red/romantic… love this chic shopping bag (so useful!)
3. Heart shaped wedding cake or even this red M&M cake!
4. Romantic red/pink roses flower arrangements
5. Iced …

I’ve been meaning to write a post about Thank You cards as I’ve been discussing this with Linda. I’m one of those strange people that actually love writing cards and wrapping presents (yes I am a stationary freak) so I found writing thank you cards for my wedding really enjoyable. But I understand there are brides out there who do not relish this task but feel they have to complete it.
I mentioned to Linda that Thank You cards actually reflect you as a couple as much as the wedding. I …

I always thought my super smart friend from university would marry a rocket scientist and she did! She married an astronomer in Lyon and I was so impressed at the astronomy themed seating plan. On the plane ride to Lyon, I read that the 13th of August is the day that the moon is brightest. I asked the groom if they had picked that date specifically because of the alignment with the moon. He shrugged and said they just liked the date.
The talented and creative bride had arranged all of …

We recently attended the wedding of my college friend in Lyon, France. We were paired up with a sweet couple that offered to drive us to the reception from the church but before we departed, they asked us for help to blow up balloons. Apparently, it is a French tradition to tie balloons and streamers on cars of the wedding party and actually honk on the way to the reception. It was a bit strange to have the rear view clouded by balloons but the sight of the united wedding …

My partner’s cousin Addy just got engaged and shared a sweet photo of her near the Golden Gate in San Francisco on her facebook page. Ofcourse, boys being boys, my partner commented ‘Hmm.. thats where Caesar from Planet of Apes lives.” Romantic. Not. Anyways, on the topic of engagement photos, I was flabbergasted to see the engagement photos of a California couple that was zombie themed. No seriously. ZOMBIE THEMED. Apparently, the couple came up with the creative idea themselves and asked their co-worker to fill in as the zombie. …
